Link your Google Business Profile to a service page to free up your homepage

Google doesn't want to show you twice on the same page, so if you are in the top three on the map, it pushes the page your profile links to down in the regular results. Point the profile at your main service page instead of the homepage, check again in a month, and switch back if nothing moves.

Here's a new quick and easy SEO tip to start ranking higher on Google. First, type in a keyword you currently rank for, then scroll down and find your business, then scroll past the Google Business Profiles and try to find it again. Now Google doesn't want to show you on the same page twice, so if you're in the top three it pushes you down in the regular results.

It does this to whatever website page is linked to your Google Business Profile. So in most cases it's probably your homepage. So what you need to do is go to your Google Business Profile and hit edit profile, then hit contact, and then click your website.

Then change this website link to your main service page. Now this frees your homepage to climb in the regular results. Monitor it, check it in a month, and if nothing happens, switch it back.
